Torre Abbey Sands is an excellent long sandy beach west of Torquay harbour. There are plenty of facilities and a nice park area behind the beach called Torre Abbey Meadows. The western part of the beach is known as Corbyn Head beach.Safety:

Steps at various points along the Torre Abbey sea front and also a bridge over the road leading to the beach (the bridge is not suitable for wheel chairs). At the north end of the beach there is a slipway to the beach suitable for wheel chairs. At Corbyn Head there is a sloping path from the road down to the beach, which is suitable for wheel chairs.Dogs:

Torquay is 24 miles from Exeter. From Exeter take the A38 and shortly after Exeter take the A380 (signposted to Torquay) and continue on the A380 past Newton Abbott to the outskirts of Torquay. On the A380 at the Edginswell junction turn left where signposted to Torquay onto the A3022. Follow the A3022 to the sea front at Torre Abbey Sands. There are other routes to Torquay such as from Plymouth via Paignton.Post Code:
